Don’t neglect your precious jewellery!
Careful wear, regular cleaning, and an annual check-up will ensure your jewellery looks its best for a lifetime.
To protect your jewellery, follow these guidelines:
- Apply perfume, make-up and hair spray before putting on your jewellery; these products can damage some gemstones.
- Clean your jewellery regularly in jewellery cleaning liquid; oils, soap and day-to-day dirt can make your gemstones appear less brilliant.
- Use an ultrasonic cleaning machine with care; never put gems such as pearls, opal, coral, turquoise, emerald, peridot, tanzanite, and kunzite into such a unit.
- Store your jewellery separately; diamonds and other gems, especially cultured pearls, can scratch one another.
- Handle cultured pearls with special care; clean them with a soft cloth after each wearing; never wear them with other necklaces that could scratch them.
- Remove your jewellery before playing sports, doing house work, or gardening; physical activity can chip even the hardest gems.
